The year 1925 was when the Girls’ State Craft and Industrial School was established. The institution, which has changed its face, names and educational offer for 90 years, has always supported the student – his needs, dreams, future. During the occupation, education was interrupted. The school buildings survived, but the equipment was destroyed. Already in December 1944, ladies Albina Malinowska and Maria Kolendo began activities aimed at organizing the first clothing training facility (in Białystok). The post-war period was mainly about changes: a new name and address. In the school year 1950/1951, the Basic Clothing School was established. The breakthrough was undoubtedly September 1, 1979 – the establishment of the Clothing School Complex. And then… more anniversaries and changes. On October 24, 1987, the school was named after Stanisław Staszic and was admitted to the National Society of Staszic Schools. Another, very important, breakthrough date: January 11, 2008 – establishment of the Complex of Technical and General Education Schools with Integration Departments. Stanisław Staszic in Białystok.

 

Educational base

The school is located in a complex of buildings located between Sienkiewicza and Ogrodowa streets in the very center of the city . A modern teaching base and well-equipped laboratories ensure high quality of education, especially vocational education. Rooms dedicated to particular professions are equipped with professional equipment, enabling students to learn the specifics of work in their chosen profession.

The following laboratories are available at the school for students and teachers:

Hairdressing studios where students use professional hairdressing stations and equipment and perform hairdressing and beauty treatments for clients. This allows you to experience real work in a hairdressing salon, especially since students work with high-quality equipment and professional cosmetics. They perform, among others: permanent waves, hair dyeing using various techniques, women’s and men’s haircuts, all in line with the latest trends.

Hotel studios with a fully equipped kitchenette, hotel room, bathroom and reception, where students can learn the standards and specifics of work, among others. in a hotel or guesthouse. Additionally, students have a professional pressure coffee machine at their disposal, and the students themselves have the opportunity to learn how to make coffee during organized barista workshops.

The tourist services workshop is equipped with workstations imitating an office with access to a computer, fax and telephone, which allows you to familiarize yourself with the specifics of work, including: in a tourist office or other place related to the profession of a tourist service technician.

The advertising organization studio is a place to express yourself and unleash creativity in students. The bright, spacious interior is enriched with numerous posters, educational boards, teaching aids and laptops that are available to students.

The photography and multimedia studio is primarily a photography studio and a photographic darkroom, where students have the opportunity to feel like they are at a real photo session during classes, during which they also work with models and take part in numerous sessions both at school and outside. They have professional, high-class equipment at their disposal, including: Nikon cameras, lenses, tripods, reflector, softbox, reflective umbrella, filters and reflectors.

Fashion industry studios are equipped with everything that will enable students to acquire skills related to designing, sewing, producing clothing products and promoting them. These are not only professional sewing machines that the studios are equipped with, but also computer stations with professional software that facilitates learning, including: design.

The logistics workshop was designed like a warehouse, where students learn the specifics of work in various areas of the logistics industry. Depending on the program content, barcode printers, readers, computers, an interactive whiteboard and educational boards are also available.

Workshops dedicated to the profession of masseur technician provide, in particular, professional equipment that allows students to learn practical skills in the profession. The studios are equipped with a hot tub, two whirlpool massage bathtubs, a mantle shower, an exercise and suspension cabin, a foot massage device, a massage chair, massagers, Chinese cupping, a sollux lamp and a massage bed. Students also have anatomical models at their disposal, enabling visual learning of human anatomy. Visually impaired students can use enlargers, projectors and textbooks printed in enlarged print.

IT laboratories are equipped primarily with computers with professional software, printers, scanners, multimedia boards, projectors and teaching and learning aids that students can use during classes.

Students studying at our school also have access to a library and MCI, where they use computers and a scanner. A gymnasium, a complex of school fields and a gym.

Activities

Students of our school have the opportunity to develop their talents, skills and creativity, with the support of qualified and passionate teaching staff, they take part in numerous extracurricular activities: the school music band WOLNOŚCI, the school newspaper; Christian Youth Forum; artistic, from drawing; sports activities: football, volleyball, basketball and modeling;  interest groups: robotics; IT; board games; modeling forms of clothing, theatrical; tourism and sightseeing, volunteering; revalidation and specialist classes: pedagogical therapy, corrective gymnastics, speech therapy and sociotherapeutic classes.

ZSTiOzOI is the organizer of many fashion shows, photo sessions, the Białystok Fashion Collision competition, and the National Young Designer Competition. We are also the originator and organizer of one of the most popular Network Games Tournament in our region, Network Team Games.
